Graphics:

The developers spent a lot time in maximizing the graphics capability of the Wii system for this game.  The models and characters are clean and detailed.  The lighting effects of the cybernetic parts on the characters glow and reflect off different the environment surfaces.   The special effects like the fire and explosions are vibrant and eye catching.  The environments in the game are very stunning and epic for a Wii game.  This game adds the third dimension in a creative and dynamic way to a typical two dimensional platform fighting game.

Sound:

During the gameplay, the soundtrack is upbeat and well suited for the genre and background of the game.  When there is a boss sequence, the music intensifies and enhances the dramatic action during the battle sequences reminding me of the old Contra series game boss fights, but with more intensity.

Gameplay:

In Single Player mode, you can control between two Spyborg.  As for the Two Player mode, this is truly a treat for fans of two player games.  This game mode emphasize heavily on cooperation between the two players.  Both players will try to execute special moves that require timed action and synchronization.  The three Spyborg characters are unique in their combat abilities.  You can choose from an agile ninja (Clandestine) with light damage, a long range medium speed fighter (Stinger), or a slow moving robot (Bouncer) that does heavy damage to the enemies.  Whichever character you may choose, it will affect the special move that you will be able to perform with the computer or companion player.  This will make the player want to try out different character combinations to see the different special combat moves.  A lot of the objects in the environment are destructible.  By breaking these objects, players will gain health, increase in power, or points for upgrading their characters.  Players will often find themselves trying to break all the objects within the environment.  This is an exciting and fun two player cooperative game that has been missing from the Wii Gaming Library, but is now finally available.

Longevity:

Usually a platform fighting game is very repetitive.  However, this game makes you want to keep on playing because of the upgrade system that can make each of characters stronger in their power and special abilities.  With the limited amount of upgrade points from completing each level, players will have a hard time deciding how to upgrade their characters.  Moreover, this game will tempt you to keep playing.

Innovations:

Although this is very much a platform based fighting game, the controls are very innovative in incorporating finding special items as you beat up your enemies.  You will fight with a regular set of control stick and buttons on the controller while using the Wii Remote to hunt for special items.  As you fight and your special move gauge charges up, you will be able to execute special finisher moves that incorporate the use of the motion recognition of Wii remote.  In order to execute the full special attack you need to move the controller indicated on the screen at the correct time.  Players will notice the motions that they are performing are similar to the Spyborg’s action like punching forward or slashing down like using a sword.
