Presentation:

To treat this as a game title would be unfair, as this is really more of an application.  Beaterator into three modes of play: Liveplay, Studio Session, and Song Crafter.  Liveplay, which is almost like a quickstart mode, where you can put together quickly, a track from premade sound templates by Timbaland himself and arrange it to sound to your liking.  Once you are happy with your track you can then import it into a Studio Session, where you can add in loops and vocals, through an external or local microphone (depending on your PSP platform).  Lastly if you’re more of an artist who likes to use and make your own material you can always use the Song Crafter mode to create your own beats and melodies.

Graphics:

Most of the visuals seen within the title are mainly visual soundboards, however it is important to point out that the user interaction portion within the graphical soundboards are superb.  Details down to controlling the knobs on the soundboards are utilized by the analog thumb stick to really give the player the feel of operating the actual the equipment.  It is apparent that the controls and user interaction portion of the game was well sought out when putting this platform together!

Sound:

What makes this platform/application so unique and appealing to many up and coming musical creators and producers is what comes out of the box with Beaterator.  Producing Legend, Timbaland has contributed hundreds of loops and sounds from his own personal collection to enable anyone from a basic user of this platform to an advanced producing artist to make some great sounding tracks at an ease.

Gameplay:

This software is extremely easy to interact with even when importing your own material.  Beaterator allows the user to import his personal MIDI and Wav files from their own personal collection to make their musical creation experience that much more personal.  Although this definitely is by no means a professional computer studio platform, the functions intact within package is extremely extensive.  With support up to 32 tracks in your studio session the possibilities are endless when making music in Beaterator.  If any point during your sessions you may get confused watch the numerous video tutorials where Timbaland will walk you through the sessions to help you better understand how to use the platform.

Innovation:

A lot of content and thought was definitely put into this project and since the original build Beaterator has come a long way.  With the backing and support from Timbaland this product is definitely a winner!  I can see this being a new platform where music artists of all ages and skill levels on the go will utilize this technology to make their music where ever they may be around the world and not have to rely on a desktop computer in a dark room to create their musical masterpieces.
