Sony took a brave step in the release of this newer version of the PlayStation Portable system. It is evident by PSP Go’s lack of external media of any sort. It means, no more UMD drive, no more disks to carry around. In place of that is a built in 16 GB of flash memory for games, TV shows, movies, and pictures; extendable to 32 GB through the use of a memory stick micro flash card. Good news is that load times generally decreased since it no longer loads from an UMD disk. Users also have no need to carry extra batteries around as the rechargeable battery for the PSP Go is beyond the guarantee breaking seal. Another part of its “Go” design includes its slick slide screen, making it 43% smaller than the original PSP. It is by far the most portable of all current dedicated gaming consoles, one that can easily fit into pants pockets almost like a cell phone. As a game console, it has built in wi-fi as well as Bluetooth connectivity, which allows it to connect to devices such as cellphones, dualshock3 controller, or Bluetooth headset.

With its launch, Sony had already prepared a whole set of games made available for purchase on its PlayStation Network. Some of these titles include : Gran Turismo, Daxter, God of War: Chains of Olympus, and SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo2. Even if these are not your type of games, there are over 225 titles already available for online purchase. Or, if you are more into movies and shows, many are available as well for prices comparably cheaper than the games.

Unfortunate for the current PSP owners, Sony is unable to offer any kind of trade-in plans for the UMD disks. However, the PSP Go is much more than just a portable game console with all its conveniently online available contents. The focus here is a highly portable multimedia device that can also offer good quality gaming.  It is small and good portable gaming system that fits in your pocket.
