The GreenSpot Tea House and Art Gallery will hold a Chinese New Year Celebration from 1 to 5 PM on Saturday, Feb 20. The program will event will feature a live demonstration of Chinese brush (Sumi) painting by Deng Zuolie, currently feature artist at GreenSpot. There will also be performances of Chinese music, demonstration of Chinese calligraphy, and Chinese fortune telling at the event. The celebration event is free and open to the public. Established by Alice Yeh in University Place just south of the Tacoma Bridge, the GreenSpot is designed to provide a place for patrons to enjoy a quiet time with refreshing tea. Also displayed in the gallery are selected unique art works by local artists emphasizing the confluence of East and West cultures. Since the Grand Opening last May, GreenSpot has featured art shows of both Chinese and American painters which received many praises from patrons and visitors.
