Seattle, WA – When individually used, photography or videography can both be great by themselves. When used together, as one medium supporting the other, the combination of visual artistry brings out the best of each. Photographs, when shown alongside a video, or videos, shown with photographs, can evoke feelings that neither can do on their own. These feelings can overcome a viewer, surrounding him or her with powerful images and sounds.

As we have said in past articles, there are many positives to each media, which are different and can equally be used to powerfully influence the viewer. However, with the limits of photography – a moment must be captured within one still image, and the limits of videography – a story must be expanded over a length of time, both can come together to overcome each other’s weaknesses and produce a stunning result which compels the viewer with no compromises. Let’s take a scenario, for instance, a wedding ceremony. While images may tell the stories from photo to photo, does it capture every single moment the way a video would? Of course not. If you have videography, you have literally everything captured. However, does the video capture of all that happened in the ceremony evoke the same kind of feelings and emotions that a photograph could? Neither standalone medium is invincible by itself, but when combined – you get the emotions you remember, as well as everything else that you don’t.

This asset of having both photography and videography is valuable, and rare, to find working together. To have the two mediums side by side, working on a single production, is something that should always be considered when using simply one or the other. Here at Two Photography, we strive to do exactly this, with offerings in digital media which include both photography and videography working in conjunction to bring you the best media experience possible.
