The pilot was killed in the crash Tuesday, according to the sources, which also reported that the government “is in communication on the matter with the North Korean side.” The plane crashed into Lagu Town of Fushun County, sources said.

(Xinhua, Tokyo) A Japanese helicopter belonging to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism fell into the sea in western Japan on Wednesday afternoon, coast guard officials said. Four people were killed, according to Kyodo. Five people were on board when the Japan Coast Guard helicopter crashed off Kagawa Prefecture, after barging in on electrical cables at 3 p.m. local time (0600 GMT). It took off from an air base in Hiroshima at 1: 45 p.m. local time. Rescue workers formed by Japan Coast Guard and local police found part of the helicopter wreckage at sea. The crash had caused a power blackout in a small island of the western prefecture, affecting some 100 households. The helicopter is believed to be a Bell, local media reported.
