On Wednesday, September 8, 2010, Seattle’s public schools welcomed the nearly 46,000 students who attended their first day of school for 2010-2011. To celebrate the new school year, Seattle Public Schools Superintendent Maria L. Goodloe-Johnson, Ph.D. visited a number of schools to greet staff, students and families.

To celebrate the new school year, Seattle Public Schools Superintendent Maria L. Goodloe-Johnson, Ph.D. visited a number of schools to greet staff, students and families.

At approximately 8:50 a.m., Superintendent Goodloe-Johnson greeted students and families as they arrive at Graham Hill Elementary School. Graham Hill Elementary Principal Christine Morningstar hosted her annual “Cheers and Tears” welcome for families at approximately 9:30 a.m.
