According to Dannie Chiu, Director of Hong Kong Trade Development Council in Los Angeles, the Hong Kong forum features different speakers every year. Some of the past speakers of the forum include Chief Executive Donald Tsang, HKSAR, Financial Secretary John Tsang, HKSAR; former Chairman of HSBC Ltd David Eldon; Chairman of Shui On Group Vincent Lo; and other well-known figures in global trading. This year’s speakers will include Chief Executive Donald Tsang, Chairman of Li & Fung Victor Fung, Managing Director of Shun Tak Holdings Ltd Pansy Ho, and Group Chairman of Sun Wah Group Jonathan Choi.

This year’s forum also offer an opportunity to visit one of China’s most rapidly developing region – Guang Xi – and to meet the officials of the City. Neighboring Vietnam and Guangdong, the region by the Pan-Pearl River Delta is currently a popular destination for industrial transfer in technology, bio-engineering, agricultural processing, and garments. The land of opportunities is also home to great natural scenery. The side trip is scheduled for November 27 to 30, just before the Hong Kong Forum.

The Hong Kong Forum is the flagship event of the Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide, which includes 33 Hong Kong Business Associations in 24 countries and over 10,000 members worldwide. The local association connected to the Federation is the Hong Kong Association of Washington, which includes a majority of Seattle’s business luminaries from Hong Kong.
