The realms of the imaginary and the real are set to get mashed up in a major way when PAX (short for Penny Arcade Expo) hits the streets of Seattle on Friday, August 31.

For three fantasy-filled days, you can get a taste-test of some of the eye candy offered up in the newest games and exclusive demos from the biggest names in the video gaming industry—and of course, free stuff.

While moving on down the aisles you’ll see the latest from Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Bethesda, Ubisoft or some of the other major game-changers at the Expo. Some of the big titles you can expect to hear news about are Assassin’s Creed III, Halo 4, Baldurs Gate, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royal, Resident Evil 6 and many more.

Gamers can also expect to see awesome spectacles at the conferences and events being held by the different companies. For example, Square Enix is holding a Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary party, which will conclude with a special presentation showing where Lightning’s story will go. Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed team will also be giving attendees the inside scoop on the development of the game during its feature panel.

We will be there from open to close, covering all news and views from the Concrete Carpet. Also, be sure to catch our interviews and updates on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter, which we’ll be posting frequently throughout the weekend.

PAX is also home to a plethora of game tournaments, nightly musical concerts, and some of the best costumes you’ll ever see. So, get ready to follow the Seattle Chinese Times’ coverage for three days of spectacle and the spectacular at PAX 2012.
