The Northwest Minority Supplier Development Council (MSDC) to host its 17th annual Scholarship Fundraiser & Silent Auction on Aug. 26. Proceeds from the golfing event will fund educational opportunities for the minority business enterprises (MBEs).

“The importance of this Scholarship Fundraiser is that part of our mission is to develop education opportunities for our MBEs and corporate members,” said Fernando Martinez, president and CEO of Northwest MSDC. “With this event, we leverage the opportunity to first, have some fun while we’re networking. And second, fundraise so that we can scholarship MBEs to participate in training. Through the education, we’re better preparing MBEs to do business with corporations.”

MBEs can receive scholarship funds to attend minority executive programs offered by two prestigious business schools across the country, participate in Northwest MSDC’s events and conferences throughout the year, or travel to the annual National MSDC Conference.

This year the fundraiser will take place at the Plateau Club, an 18-hole course in Sammamish. The event starts at 11 a.m., with boxed lunch provided, and concludes at 8 p.m. with an awards dinner. Last day to register is Aug. 19.
