Ducktales Remastered (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) Box Art(http://www.capcom-unity.com/ducktales)  Rated E for Everyone by ESRB.  A serious quack from the past is back: Capcom has released a remastered version of their classic NES video game, DuckTales! For those of you who may not be familiar with DuckTales, it was an old 80’s cartoon series produced by Disney that was a huge hit, and spawned an even better video game for the 8 bit era. And now, Ducktales has been remastered, re-built from the ground up, for a new generation to enjoy!

For those of you who may not be familiar with DuckTales, it was an old 80’s cartoon series produced by Disney that was a huge hit, and spawned an even better video game for the 8 bit era. And now, Ducktales has been remastered, re-built from the ground up, for a new generation to enjoy! However, newcomers might want to start their first play through on easy, because DuckTales is no easy Disney kids’ game. Like many 8 bit era platformers, DuckTales requires precise player control, because one slip up could cost you some of your health, or even your whole life. There’s no specific save slots, so you’re at the mercy of the game’s checkpoints, which there aren’t very many of. The game’s visuals are spectacularly beautiful and vibrant, and were redesigned and created by two of Disney’s top television artists. The original voice actors (at least, those who are still alive) also lent their talents to voice their original characters from the TV series, which I thought was an awesome touch. This remastered version recreates everything from the original, but also adds in some new level layouts, story sequences, and lets players buy artwork and gallery pieces from money they collect in game. My favorite part was that the game lets you dive into the pit of money in Scrooge’s vault, which will actually fill up with treasure and gold as you beat more levels. My only complaint about DuckTales is that the play time is too short, but this is one of the most faithfully-remastered games I’ve ever seen, and I praise Capcom for bringing Ducktales back to life so beautifully and faithfully.
