College Application Help
What: The Seattle Public Library will offer two workshops on applying for college.
Students should bring their college application materials. Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and offer help with college applications, personal statements and essays.
When: Dec. 1, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Where: Ballard Branch (5614 22nd Ave. N.W., Seattle)

What: The Trade Development Alliance is committed to growing business and establishing new synergies by celebrating the international community and current business connections. Business leaders are encourage to join this reception to network with members of the Consular Corp and leaders in the international business community while enjoying hors d’oeuvres and light refreshments.

Learn the Basics of Advocacy
What: Seattle Department of Neighborhoods’ People’s Academy for Community Engagement (PACE) presents its fall seminar, “Democracy Needs You! Five Essential Advocacy Tools that will Shape Your World.” Guest expert facilitator, professor, and long-time community activist Nancy Amidei will cover the basic functions of our three branches of government, how a bill becomes a law, and five effective advocacy tools.
When: Dec. 3, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Winter’s Eve Community Open House & Hayrides
What: Join naturalists on a nocturnal hayride around Seward Park to experience the peninsula and park at night. Decorate cookies and craft holiday gifts while warming up with some hot cocoa and cider. Foll ow the luminaria down to the bonfire to listen to the Christmas Ships in the south bay or, if it’s too blustery, get cozy inside the Center and enjoy the music from the fireside.
When: Dec. 3, 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Where: Seward Park Audubon Center (5902 Lake Washington Blvd S, Seattle)
Cost: Hayrides are $5/person, activities are FREE
