英国著名文学家查尔斯.狄更斯的短篇小说《圣诞颂歌》早已成为圣诞节的一大经典，许多剧场开始有了一年一度的《圣诞颂歌》舞台剧表演。西雅图的ACT剧院也延续以往传统，继续为大家带来此表演。因每年的表演都有稍作改变，已观看过的观众也将持续在此表演中发现全新细节。故事讲述了一位极其小气的商人如何从几位超自然人物身上学习到圣诞节与人生的真谛，并用这个充满希望与赎回的故事提醒观众哪些品质才是人一生中最为重要的。

北美有许多庆祝圣诞节的习俗，而观看一场芭蕾舞剧「胡桃夹子」就是其中一样。今年的11月底到12月底，太平洋西北芭蕾舞团将继续为大家带来著名编舞家乔治巴兰钦的「胡桃夹子」。到场观看表演的观众将陷入舞团管弦乐团带来的柴可夫斯基的美妙编曲，由极受欢迎的作者与插图画家Ian Falconer所设计的布景与服装，舞团舞者献上的绝美舞姿与场馆内的下雪场景。整个麦考剧院也将散发出节日气息。

George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker® promises the magic that makes the holidays. Tchaikovsky’s cherished score played live by the PNB Orchestra, gorgeous scenery and costumes by celebrated author and illustrator Ian Falconer (Olivia the Pig), brilliant dancing by PNB’s incredible dancers, a snowfall every performance, and Seattle Center’s McCaw Hall all dressed up for the holidays. A ballet for all ages, The Nutcracker delights kids as well as adults. Come celebrate the holiday with a hall full of nutcrackers, a stage full of dancers in gorgeous costumes, and some naughty rats ready for battle.

A juried exhibition of fine art photography, Walking the Neighborhood: Images from Favorite Washington Places highlights both the creativity of our state’s residents and those special Washington places, things and people that inspire us to get on the move. Just as Seattle is known for its walkability with public seating, landscaping, and amazing views available throughout the city, so are a great many communities, large and small, in our state. The images in this exhibition capture the variety of places people walk, the people they meet along the way, and the things they see and do when out and about.
